Working within our buying team, this position will be assisting with vendor negotiation and procurement and providing materials, supplies and services to our manufacturing operations. Semi conductor sourcing experience in the far east is required.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Support manufacturing on time delivery and production productivity by maintaining effective supply chains and acting as the first level of escalation when a potential supply disruption is identified.
Assist with obtaining quotes- negotiate and procure materials and services for the best value.
Prepare purchase orders in accordance with documented materials processes.
Control expedite fees from suppliers and transportation companies by exercising exceptional supply chain control.
Verify accuracy of all documentation including but not limited to supplier proposals to purchase orders, file documentation, invoices and receipts, and sign purchase orders
Interface with both current and potential suppliers in order to determine best price for current requirements, and remain abreast of economic and business situations relating to procurement activity.
Monitor supplier on-time delivery and quality levels to develop plans for continuous improvement of overall supplier performance.
Assure accuracy of purchasing transactions to minimize negative inventory levels.
Generate and communicate part level forecasts as needed to all assigned suppliers.
Process rejected materials back to supplier within a timely manner and negotiate with supplier when supplier-caused rework occurs.
Continue to develop new vendors and participate with Manufacturing and R&D leadership in the evaluation and selection of alternate sources of supply.
Skills and qualifications:
Semi conductor sourcing experience in the far east is required
8+ years of tactical procurement and supplier management experience in a mechanical assembly or aerospace manufacturing environment.
Aerospace or medical device industry experience highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or related discipline.
APICS or CPM Certification desirable.
Negotiation skills required.
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with team members and suppliers.
Working knowledge and understanding of MRP.
Technical knowledge of mechanical assembly.
Problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and to take initiative while working collaboratively within a team environment.
Managing multiple critical priorities and meeting deadlines.
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office.
