The role will develop, test, manufacture, and repair electrical and electronic equipment. This individual is expected to work independently, owning the assigned tasks, with limited guidance from the engineering team.


  • Debug hardware to the component level

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and rework PCB boards and electronics

  • Prepare engineering test, verification, and environmental test plans for engineering teams

  • Write and/or modify test procedures, protocols, specifications, and reports pertaining to electronic designs, test methods, requirements, and result data.

  • Support engineers by designing, assembling, and reworking electronic circuits and fixtures for prototypes, experiments, and testing

  • Manage the status of testing and inform engineers of any issues or deviations

  • Report test results based on preexisting standards or requirements

  • Build prototypes from rough sketches, schematics, diagrams, drawings, instructions, or plans

  • Support transfer of products from engineering to manufacturing

  • Maintain a safe and organized lab and work environment


  • 5-7 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting electronics to a component level

  • Talented with laboratory electronics test and repair equipment

  • Proficient in reading schematics or drawings and troubleshooting at the component level

  • Familiarity with processes of moving electronic designs from prototype to production in a medical device company

  • Skilled in soldering surface mount components; including 0402 and fine pitch packages

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, data acquisition, and CAD Software

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Experience with digital and analog circuit theory and applications

  • Experience with locating and acquiring electronics components and services

  • Excellent hands-on experience in electronics and mechanical activities

  • Knowledge of EAGLE and/or Altium Designer for schematics and PCB a plus
