Facilities Manager

Position Overview:

The Facilities Manager is responsible for managing the maintenance of our office, operations building and equipment. The Facilities Manager will monitor facility infrastructure systems, manufacturing equipment, plan maintenance and modifications, secure vendors, request quotes and implement schedules. This position will report to the Vice President of Manufacturing and will operate with minimal supervision.

Only candidates with manufacturing facilities management experience will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures safe maintenance, repair or replacement of equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality.

  • Follows national, state, local building/ mechanical/ electrical codes; safety codes, OSHA regulations; fire codes; policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Assists in the initiation, implementation and management of the plant maintenance program based on best practices in manufacturing, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling of preventative/predictive maintenance.

  • Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment; initiates reordering when necessary.

  • Assists in the ongoing review of the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, proactively solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Develops and implements procedures and practices to maintain clean, tidy, productive, and safe work areas.

  • Determines optimal physical layouts for office space, equipment, and furniture

  • Responds to emergency calls for maintenance.

  • Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.

  • Coordinates building improvements, expansions and build-outs.

  • Directs, installations, moves and repairs of equipment and utilities within the building.

  • Contracts with and supervises all outside contractors.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum Associates Degree from a Technical Institution; bachelors desired.

  • Must have five (5) or more years of experience managing a manufacturing facility and leading facilities projects.

  • Strong mechanical aptitudes and a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Initiative, multi-tasking, detail oriented, and teamwork are key competencies.

  • Familiar with building codes and maintains current with OSHA and ADA regulations updates, FDA highly desirable.

  • High sense of urgency, drive and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment meeting critical deadlines.

  • Excellent organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.

  • Must have expertise and proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

  • Ability and judgment to plan and accomplish goals with minimal supervision.

  • Attention to detail with a high level of diligence and accuracy with record keeping.

  • Experience with vendor interface.

  • Must be able to work independently with limited supervision.
