Vice President, Engineering (R&D)
This role is responsible for driving execution of product development activities, instilling discipline and process to the product development effort in order to provide timely completion of milestones, remain within budget, and foster innovation and teamwork.
The successful candidate will have a proven record of product development and leadership in the medical device industry with a minimum of fifteen years of experience and at least ten of those in R&D, leading a product portfolio from concept to commercialization as well as directing sustaining engineering efforts. S/he should be comfortable with the execution of all aspects of product development including design, development, verification and validation and other issues relevant to the final commercialized product.

Managing R&D budget, setting/hitting key milestones, and upgrading department capabilities.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance, to ensure R&D plans and strategies are integrated with broader business strategies.
Attracting, developing, and retaining a strong team required to execute the strategic R&D plan.
Supporting management for all existing products including manufacturing, maintaining quality, regulatory compliance and cost improvement.
Driving the next generation of products.
Ensuring technical rigor.
Experience in respiratory, specifically in ventilation, is highly valued.
An undergraduate degree in an engineering field is required; an MS or Doctoral degree is highly preferred and an MBA desirable.
Proven capabilities leading strategic planning efforts within R&D.
